- Your consumer unit checked first
- Older consumer units often can't support new circuits under current regulations. I inspect your board first and advise if an upgrade is necessary. Alternatively, I can add a new dedicated, compliant consumer unit for the EV charger.
- Its own supply
- The charger gets its own circuit to safely handle the high power demand.
- Convenient placement
- Installed right where you need it, whether that's the front of your house, a side wall or directly next to your driveway.
- Tested and certified
- Tested when it's in, and you get the certificate.

- Can my house take a charger?
- Most can. It depends on your supply and your consumer unit (fuse box). I look at both before anything else, and if the board needs upgrading first, I tell you then, not on the day.
- Does it have to be a smart charger?
- Yes. New home chargers sold in Great Britain must be smart by law. That means you can set it to charge when power is cheaper, often overnight.
- Can't I just charge from a normal socket?
- No. Standard wall sockets are only meant for occasional or emergency use. They are not designed to handle a heavy electrical draw for hours on end, which creates a serious overheating and fire risk. Furthermore, domestic sockets lack critical open PEN protection. Safe daily charging requires a dedicated EV charge point on its own protected circuit.
